Hodge Podge
Chris Patrick and Ray Glewwe tear down some more of the ceiling in one of the preschool rooms.
Door frames have been installed on the first level of the addition.
The front entryway has been boxed in, in preparation for more work.
Gail Heinemann tries to do her work amongst the noise and dust of the construction going on right outside the door. This picture was taken from what used to be the pastor's office. Now it's a part of the Narthex.

Framing, Painting, and Sheetrock
Mike Johnson's crew continues to frame the new entryway.
Meanwhile, inside, the painter covered the pews with plastic to get ready to paint the newly installed sprinkler pipes.
While all that was taking place, Kerry and Korey Kern were prepping the ceiling of the second level of the addition for sheetrock.

More Backfilling and Framing
Backfilling right in front of the main entry way. The loud noise you hear in the middle of the video is from the bucket getting hung up on a rock in the ground.
Hoisting joists up to the second level so they can be put in place.
A view of the bottom of the second level of the new addition.
Another view, from outside the south entry.
A view "inside" the first level. This picture was taken right outside the nursery wing door, which will be the location of the new stairwell.

Temporary Entry
The main entryway was inaccessible for services on Sunday, January 2, so a temporary bridge was built to allow access through the nursery wing.

Jim and Lorna May enter the church by crossing the bridge.

Construction: Day 23
As you can see, the front entryway is off limits at the moment...
...because of the hole in front if it that is 5 feet deep.
Forms for footings for the new walkway.

Construction: Day 22 Pt. II
Bill Heinemann, and Chris and Daniel Patrick remove the sheetrock from the walls of the Pastor's Study. The picture looks grainy because the camera captured all the dust in the air.
The stripped down, bare-bones, carpet-less Pastor's Study.
The excavator showed up after dark to begin to clear away more earth.
The sidewalk leading to the main entryway comes up.
