Sweeping on the construction site is dirty work. With so much dust in the air, it's hard to see how he's even making any progress!

IT Guys
The IT crew (Rich Erickson, Craig Hillegas, Tim Olson, Lee Dodge, and Kerry Glewwe) put in some time on Saturday to run all the wiring necessary for the new computer system in the addition.
This is just a fraction of the wires and cables that are running through the ceiling of the addition.
Craig, Tim, and Lee feed cables through the ceiling. There are going to be a few guys with sore necks and shoulders tomorrow.

The Youth Room is a Pit
Crews had to dig a hole through the floor of the Youth Room to connect to the new water service that will feed the sprinkler system. The pipes go through the Youth Room, out of the church, and down the hill to Gorman Ave.

Sheetrock
Korey Kern screws sheetrock in place in the new lift. Notice all the dust in the air captured by the camera.
Kerry Kern cuts the sheetrock to size and feeds the pieces in to Korey.
Mike Protelsch stands on scaffolding to attach pieces of sheetrock to the harder to reach areas of the lift shaft.
Kerry Kern puts the finishing touches on the sheetrock in the lift shaft.
Kelley Kern attaches some smaller pieces of sheetrock to the exterior of the elevator shaft in the addition.
The elevator shaft in the new building has now been completely sheetrocked.

Riverview Men and Women Get To Work
Joy Lang staples poly membrane to the studs. The membrane will protect the sheetrock from moisture.
Tim Olson and Kerry Kern joke around as Kerry applies an adhesive for the membrane.

Let the Walls Fall Down
Larry Magnuson and Matt Glewwe chip away at the wall in the entryway/Narthex.
Chris Patrick cuts through cement blocks as Matt Glewwe vacuums up the dust created by the saw.
This picture was taken from the entryway doors. Without the wall the Narthex is all of a sudden quite a bit bigger!
In the meantime, Korey Kern and Mike Protelsch begin sheetrocking the ceiling of the second floor of the new addition.

Framing, Painting, and Sheetrock
Mike Johnson's crew continues to frame the new entryway.
Meanwhile, inside, the painter covered the pews with plastic to get ready to paint the newly installed sprinkler pipes.
While all that was taking place, Kerry and Korey Kern were prepping the ceiling of the second level of the addition for sheetrock.

Day 65
The Overflow Room will unfortunately be unusable for Sunday Service this week. The room is currently filled with pipes and tools for the new sprinkler system.

Sprinklers
The weekend brought 12 inches of new snow with it, so not much work was taking place outside on Monday morning.
The sprinkler crew continued to install the new sprinkler system on Monday morning. Here a worker is drilling a big hole through a wall in one of the nursery rooms. Pipes will run down the nursery hallway and sprinklers will be installed on the walls of each nursery and preschool room.

Workers install pipe for the sprinkler system at the very top of the sanctuary ceiling.
Some pews had to be removed so the lift could be properly positioned.

A Hole in the Floor
Crews finished cutting through the concrete floor in the music office this morning to make way for the new lift.
Here's some footage of the actual cutting. You may want to turn the volume down on your computer...

More Snow
Monday brought 3-6 inches of snow with it, but most of the workers are either in the main building or in the addition today. Below, Ray Glewwe explains some of what the plumbers are up to in the new addition.

Days 44-45
Here's a look at some of the work that happened on Thursday and Friday of this week. First, Mike Johnson's crew tar papers the exterior of the addition.
Workers broke through the walls and floors to get at the sewer line. This picture was taken from outside the door at the end of the nursery wing hallway.
This picture was taken outside the 4-5 year old room, looking at the same guy. The plastic is up to minimize the dust and dirt that gets flung into the air.
Bill Heinemann removes ceiling tiles from one of the preschool rooms.
Chris Patrick begins the demolition of the music office, which is also the future location of the lift. Crews will begin to cut through these walls in the coming weeks.
